Hotels in Bruges: Brewery De Gouden Boom

De Gouden Boom is Bruges' second brewery and has been producing beers since 1587.

The musuem is located in the old malt house, built in 1902, and still has its beer vats and other equipment in place. The museum features exhibits not only the museum's parent brewery, but also the other 31 breweries that were in operation in the city at the turn of the 20th century.

You can then visit the brewery itslef which is just a quick hop to Langestraat 45, where they brew such popular beers as Brugse Tarwebier, Brugse Tripel, and Abdij Steenbrugge. The brewery can only be visited as part of a guided tour which are by prior arrangement only.
